I've posted my tentative yearly wrap-up for 2009, and I'm now polling for inspiration to meet last year's fic count. Drop on by! :)

As seen in a Morgan/Reid comm...
...because I'm a little obsessed with New Moon at the moment...
Then, honestly, go look for Twilight comms. Because Reid doesn't even know what Twilight is (a canon fact that I heart totally) and I'd prefer to keep it that way.

As I'm wont to do, I went away and played as someone else for a while. Now that I'm engaging in a fandom tidy-up, however, I thought that I'd move these fics here. I hope that you enjoy them. :)

Damn Swap fic--every time I think I'm making progress, I get stuck. *kicks fic*

* Hope all who celebrate Thanksgiving had a wonderful time spent with family and friends.
* The Girl Child went to the Black Friday sales this morning. At 4:49, while I was doing some serious sleeping, she texted. Scared me to death. Why did she text at that unholy hour, you ask... because she spotted John Travolta at the mall. Jesus. She's a freak.
* The Boy Child had to work today - so no shopping for him. Instead, he gave the Girl a list and his debit card. He gave his sister his fucking debit card. When she was going to a mall. The boy is an idiot. Honestly.
* It's chilly here in the Sunshine State tonight. Lovely thing, that. Right along with the Criminal Minds marathon on A&E.
* And, on a Criminal Minds note, this week's episode killed me. Dead. *pets the CM team*

Per darlinggirl1263 on LJ: The account was suspended for "excessive CPU usage". The mod is working to get things back up and running. We'll just have to wait it out.
ETA: Had a couple of people asking for an older fic - meaning the ones I have not tagged here on IJ yet - so, I figured I'd just link you my LJ tags.
Jesus. I gotta make myself get those old tags done. I mean, it has only been two and one-half years, right? *hates that kind of stuff*
To be honest, I hadn't intended on posting anymore about BDSM. Not outside of fic, anyway. But someone asked the difference between kinky sex and Lifestyle. And the answers to this are endless. Especially if you try to use nothing but serious, technical type jargon.
Good thing we all know I'm not so great with sticking to the technical, huh?
So, let's look at this like a bowl of ice cream. ( Because, really, who doesn't like ice cream? )

LOOK AT MY NEW JOURNAL HEADER ARTWORK! JUST LOOK AT IT! IT WAS DONE BY THE INCOMPARABLE MASTEROFMERCURY AND IT IS THE MOST AWESOMEST THING EVER EVER EVER! I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO USE IT AND TONIGHT I ASKED IF I COULD AND SHE SAID YES AND I AM HAPPY CONCEPT, HAPPY, HAPPY CONCEPT!
It is so awesome, in fact, that when she gave me permission to use it I promptly flailed and knocked over my tequila--three times.
I'm so happy it's not even funny. It's even better than seeing a house I liked. For serious. That says something about my priorities, but what the hell. It's so pretty it could even go with For a Reasonable Fee or Comes at a Cost.
This is the happiest day EVAR.
Now go read Naughty Girl. It's the teeny ficlet I did a few years ago for this pic. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Oh, jeez. I just got hit with a silly idea for a follow up in my Pink!verse. I wonder if I can sustain it? It would be short, but I think I may need to write it. More flamingo!Harry! :D Super silly fun.
…and I'm a submissive. As in, a contracted and collared sub to my husband, Matt. D/s, BDSM, leather, lifestyle, call it what you will. It is what it is.
Originally, I intended to post something like an introduction because, as my fandoms branch out, there are new people on my flist. And I tend to be loud and opinionated when it comes to head exploding kink fics. Figured offering some insight to me might help explain the tangent rants I sometimes have. Along with the fact that most, if not all, of my fics have some display of power dynamics, no matter how subtle.
I'm sure those of you who know me best find that to be an understatement. Heh.
This has morphed, through conversations with friends, into not only a hey, this is me post, but also one that, for lack of tact on my part, is a whoa! let's think about this before you write it post. Mainly because BDSM comes under enough fire without having misleading works of fiction floating around out there stirring up more trouble than they're worth.
And, honestly, not trying to be a bitch, but if a piece of fiction disregards the basic principles of safe, sane, and consensual they really are more trouble than they're worth. They set a stage for others, those not in the scene, that can lead to misunderstandings, arguments, and, most important, serious injury.
Not cool.
Not when it takes just a few lines of dialogue, or even implied conversation to lend believability and credibility to the work.
To that end, I've started a list. ( Which is actually quite funny seeing as I despise lists. )
Got questions? Ask 'em. I'd rather you ask me something embarrassing than you make my head go splodey in the next fic I run across.

Whoa! Additional Lifestyle discussions taking place...
irana is talking about consent, SSC, and RACK. You can read that post here.

Oh my God, why the hell do I suddenly have Green Jelly's song "Three Little Pigs" stuck in my head? That's gotta be a sign of impending psychosis.

votaku
Series: ST XI
Characters/Pairings: Ultimately Kirk/McCoy but Kirk's got to get there first. Kirk/Uhura and Kirk/Spock happen along the way. Kind of. Spock/Uhura.
Warnings: There are issues with consent.
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: +/- 28,000
Beta(s):
regan_v,
bethbethbeth, and
gnomad
Disclaimer: I would not presume to suggest that I own anything connected to Star Trek. I'm using the characters without permission and I'm not making any money on them.
Summary: Aliens make Kirk think he's had sex with three members of his crew. Much to his surprise, the person it meant the most with was not the person he would have guessed. Now all he has to do is convince that person he's serious, deal with the other two people with whom he shared this experience, and negotiate with the aliens who did this to him. No problem.
Note 1: As you can probably tell, the scene in the bar in Iowa is a paraphrase from the novelization of the movie. I'm using it without permission.
Note 2: Vokau is Vulcan for remember.
Note 3: Special thanks to Neotoma for answering my questions on genetics.

I'm now Abstractconcept on an Achive of Our Own for the beta stages. (If you want an account there, put in your email address and they will send you one when it becomes available. I only had to wait a couple of days. Of course, right now it's in testing, not yet a sleek and perfect archive). There are only a few things I'm confused about so far. The warnings they have are not really enough, so one person suggested using tags to supplement, which I've been doing. I'm just not sure if I'm sort of abusing the tags. I'm trying to use them to suggest the flavor of my story. But I think the suggestion that we use them for warnings makes me feel like maybe I shouldn't put things in there willy-nilly. I only use a few tags per fic, though. At any rate, I'll follow the discussion as it continues to happen. My ONLY other real complaint is that it's great with formatting my html from other sites--except for scene breaks. My oOoOoOos never stay centered, so I unfailingly have to go in and put the html for that. But I haven't figured out if this is a problem on my end--I tend to code strangely or forget certain things. So I need to look into that. Other than that, it seems pretty good. I haven't had a lot of time to play with it--only about an hour, in which I uploaded five fics. I love that it can pretty much code for me (GOD, how I love that) and I love that you can break things into chapters if you want, but it can also handle large fics.
I'm curious to see how it will work out feedback-wise. That's one of the main things I like about journal sites as opposed to archives--journals foster conversation and feedback MUCH better than archives do. But I do like having somewhere to keep all my stuff and so far this is pretty slick, though there's room for improvement in the warnings.
Of course, playing with it helps you figure lots of things out--you can put notes in as well, so you could also put warnings there. No big deal. And it does your wordcount for you! Isn't that fun? :D I'll play with it more tonight if I have a chance. I want to search other people and fics and things and see how that works.
